Critical Pedagogy Theory Critical Pedagogy is a theory which was developed/spread by John Dewey and Paulo Freire. This theory encourages students to enact change by exposing them to social and political issues. It believes that learning can only happen through real life experiences, not pages in a textbook, but political stances, social rights movements, and other various "real-life" examples. My picture depicts Students talking about realize movements and watching current events on the TV. Situated Learning Theory Situated Learning is a theory developed by Brown, Collins and Duguid. The theory suggests that all learning is received through interactions in relationships. The teacher is expected to be an expert and students will learn from asking questions. My picture depicts the teacher giving students knowledge. It also shows how superior the teacher is to the students in terms of knowledge. Social Learning Theory Social Learning is a theory in which students learn from each other and their own individual interests. My picture shows students working together in groups.
